Lagoons Beach campground is a large campground on the East Coast of Tasmania and is one of the most popular in Tasmania that is very large, and extends a distance of app. 700 metres alongside a beautiful beach. The free campground Lagoons Beach is suitable for all forms of camping including campervans, motorhomes, camper trailers, caravans and tents. All campsites are unpowered; there are no costs and you can camp for up to 4-weeks. Dogs are OK if kept on a lead and under control at all times. The Lagoons Beach free camping area St Marys is signposted from the A3 Highways, and easy to find. You will find access tracks 2 kilometres and 2.5 kilometres North of the A3 and A4 junctions that lead to the camping area, and that are only around 400 metres off the main road. There are plenty of both shaded and good grassed spots to choose from. Campers at the Lagoons Beach campground can enjoy a range of activities in the immediate area including bushwalking, fishing, beach combing, bird watching, a range of water activities and fishing which is very popular in this part of Tasmania – in particular, beach fishing for Australian Salmon. There are no bookings, and all camping is on a first come, first served basis. Please note that the campground does get very busy over Summer and Easter, but at most other times of the year you will have no problem finding a great spot given the size of the Lagoons Beach Campground.
